Paint & Speaker Stands - 09/25/2017

Disappointingly slow weekend this time around.

I ended up having to 'finish' painting the room twice because I grabbed the wrong bucket of pier 14 (the gray-navy color I'm painting the theater). Long story short, we actually have another room in the house painted with pier 14 but it was mixed a year before the theater's paint. The difference was very noticeable, so I painted Saturday and again on Sunday. Ugh...

I did manage to modify my AV rack's rear door and also painted it, but it hasn't been hung yet.

I also finished the modifications to my receiver which appears to be working perfectly.

Finally, I built and painted my speaker stands. Built from scraps, they're spec'd for the dimensions of DIYSG's 88 Specials (21"x9"). They're waaay overbuilt and about 45lbs each, but I didn't want them shifting around, and after I put a few layers of shelf grip liner between the speakers and stands + between the stands and floor I don't expect anything to move / vibrate too much.
